My 5 Top tips to look and feel your best this Christmas!

1. Don't go too crazy!

With the inevitable Christmas food and drink gluttony approaching, which in my opinion is something that should be enjoyed within reason, there are a few simple steps that can be taken to limit the exercise required when the new year arrives!

Most people I know would average 3-4 days of family get togethers, 2/3 work/friend nights out over the festive period, so on the basis December has 31 days, realistically worst-case scenario, 7 days can written off, leaving you with 24 days in which you can eat a healthy balanced diet and stay hydrated.

I know so many people who just give up at the start of December and have probably gone through several tubs of Cadbury heroes before a single decoration has been placed on the tree.

Then on the 2nd of January they are sweating it out on a treadmill, regretting that they took a full month off training whilst consuming double their normal calorie intake.

When your socialising, make the most of it and when you’re not keep your hands out of the cookie jar!

2. Plan your fitness goals for the first quarter of 2023

As most PT’s out there will tell you, you need short-, medium- and long-term goals.

For example, I’m going to lose 2 stone for my summer holiday is a great long term goal, but you need to break it down so you can celebrate smaller milestones, so losing 6lbs by the end of January would be ideal, it’s achievable, measurable and give you a great basis for your 2 stone goal.

Planning this before your get to January will help to keep you on track, and might even prevent you getting carried away with chocolate, cheese and other festive treats

Headstrong is delighted to be collaborating with GYM117 https://gym117.co.uk/ who will help you every step on the way in achieving your fitness goals.

3. Look after your skin!

Just because the flip flops and shorts have been put away for the next few months it doesn’t mean that the sun cream should have joined them.

Despite the sun’s ultraviolet rays being generally lower during the winter months it is still powerful enough to damage your skin, increasing the risk of skin cancer and signs of aging.

To ensure good skin health during the winter I would recommend a good specific face wash, a high quality moisturiser to lock in the skins natural moisture, followed by sun protection with a minimum of spf30. If you’re looking for fantastic skincare for either yourself or someone special at Christmas then the Headstrong clinic has it own incredible range of skincare specifically for men, providing a simple two step skincare routine that will leave your skin looking and feeling great. Only available to be purchased from the Headstrong Clinic so please contact us to find out more https://www.headstrongclinic.co.uk/contactinfo

4. Be there for each other at Christmas!

As you probably know by now, I’m always keen to promote men’s mental health and as exciting as Christmas can be for many people, it can also be a very difficult time for others. Many people this year will face Christmas alone or struggling with financial difficulty, it’s for this reason that I think it’s important to check in on friends and offer support to those less fortunate than yourselves. Sometimes all it takes is a message to say hello, a facetime or stopping in for a coffee, you never know you might just save someone’s life.

5. Christmas is a time for giving

Finally, if you want to be one of the first people to receive a pair of HEADSTRONG boxers with all profits going directly to charity, then please sign up to our mailing list so you will able to get a pair before they go on sale to the general public. Every couple of months a new charity will be chosen to receive the money raised and all charities chosen will in some way be connected men’s mental health.
